Arabelle Meirlaen est une figure emblématique dans notre paysage épicurien wallon. Après avoir mis à l’honneur de grands noms comme Keith Haring, Andy Warhol, Vincent van Gogh ou encore Niki de Saint Phalle, le BAM se transforme cet automne en un vaste cabinet de curiosités. BeCraft et le Pôle muséal de la Ville de Mons ont invité le duo d’artistes Sofie Lachaert et Luc D’hanis à orchestrer la nouvelle exposition du BAM (Beaux-Arts Mons). Au Mac’s : les abeilles de l’invisible
Le MAC’s présente une exposition de groupe réunissant une dizaine d’artistes contemporains issus d’horizons différents sur le thème de la transformation du visible en invisible par la pensée intuitive ou mystique.
L'exposition, intitulée Les abeilles de l'invisible, rassemble des œuvres d'Angel Vergara, Ricardo Brey, Jean-Marie Bytebier, Fabrice Samyn, Sarkis, Daniel Turner et de José Mara Sicilia, entre autres.
Le choix du commissaire Denis Gielen s’est porté en premier sur des pièces inspirées directement par la pensée mythologique ou mystique. L'alchimie et la recherche inhérente à la spiritualité à travers la transformation des métaux constituent un deuxième thème abordé dans diverses œuvres présentées. Le troisième pilier est Joseph Beuys et son utopie du "retour à la nature enchantée". Enfin, l’exposition aurait été inconcevable sans aborder les inextricables liens entre le visible et l’invisible que tisse.

L’artiste propose deux expositions inédites : « la table », une installation imaginée spécialement pour le Marché du Livre et une rétrospective de l’ensemble de ses livres créés depuis les années ’80. Les livres qui envahissent le musée lors de ce week-end sont ceux qui échappent aux circuits habituels de l’édition. Ils se présentent sous leurs multiples facettes : créations littéraires, microéditions, livres d’artistes, ou livres-objets... Une quarantaine d’éditeurs parlent de leur métier, vendent leurs livres, éveillent la curiosité, provoquent un déclic : découvrir des livres différents !

Pour le mensuel de l'architecture du mois de décembre, Thierry Genicot s'est rendu à Namur, au lancement de l'<strong>Institut culturel d'architecture </strong>(Wallonie-Bruxelles). A l’occasion de la présentation de son exposition inaugurale, il a rencontré la Ministre de la Culture, Benédicte Linard, ainsi que Chantal Dassonville (responsable de la Cellule architecture), Audrey Contesse (directrice de l'ICA-WB) et Justine Dandoy (Directrice du Centre culturel de l'Arrondissement de Huy) - qui reviennent sur les <strong>enjeux et missions</strong> de ce nouvel opérateur culturel de l'<strong>architecture</strong> en Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles. Enfin, il a participé à l'une des activités proposées : une visite de projet en province de Namur.

Au <strong>Musée Royal de Mariemont</strong> : <em>Exposition Au temps de Galien</em>. <br /><br />Un médecin grec dans l'Empire romain (jusqu'au 5 décembre) En suivant la vie du médecin grec <strong>Galien de Pergame</strong> (129 - env. 216 ap. J.-C.) comme fil conducteur, l'exposition se propose de décrire les pratiques médicales, pharmacologiques et sanitaires de l'Empire romain aux premiers siècles de notre ère. <br />Le projet souligne l'<strong>évolution thérapeutique</strong> et <strong>anatomique</strong> depuis Hippocrate, sept siècles plus tôt, mais également la constance de la pharmacopée et du système des quatre humeurs ainsi que l'évolution de la diététique. <br /><br />Les écrits prolifiques du célèbre praticien, ses centres d'intérêt très variés, ses voyages et l'ampleur de sa clientèle - allant des gladiateurs de Pergame jusqu'aux empereurs de Rome - permettent de traiter de nombreux thèmes et offrent un parcours géographique et sociologique autour de la Méditerranée sous la Pax Romana. Ainsi l'exposition évoque et rend concrète l'histoire d'une société. <br /><br />A cette occasion, Thierry Genicot a interrogé le parfumer <strong>Olivier Kummer</strong>; <strong>Christine Longpré</strong>, guide-conférencière; ainsi qu'<strong>Annie Verbanck</strong>, commissaire de l'exposition...
